Betty J. KlepsteenLakewood, COBetty J. Klepsteen, 88, formerly of Chicago, IL, Battle Creek, MI, Boulder, CO, and Pottsville, PA, peacefully passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Denver Hospice in Denver, CO. Daughter of Alexander and Edna Frisch, she was born on October 16, 1928, in Chicago, IL, and attended Mozart Elementary and Kelvyn Park High School.She is survived by her children: Claudia Lewis of Naples, FL, John (Sabrina) Klepsteen of Battle Creek, MI, and Holly (Bill) Stewart of Highlands Ranch, CO; Grandchildren: Adam (Karen) Klepsteen, Samantha (John) Fearing, Robert Klepsteen, Kyle Stewart, Alea Klepsteen, Morgan Klepsteen, and Anna Stewart; Great-Grandchildren: Alexandria Klepsteen, Leland and Milo Fearing.She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Frisch.She loved to cook, retiring from the University of Colorado as a large scale chef. She had a big heart for those in need, volunteering for many years, helping the disabled with meal preparation so they could live independently. She was an avid animal lover and was at her happiest with a beloved Labrador or cat in her arms.At her request, there will be no memorial service. Her memory would best be honored by a donation to an animal shelter or a kindness extended to an animal in need.
