Bertha M. Apodaca, 78, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Alta Vista Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.She was born on Jan. 29, 1935 in Cañon Largo to the late Juan Andres Madrid and Carolina Gonzales.She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Andres and Carolina Madrid; daughters, Erlinda, and Victoria Apodaca; great-grandson, Luis V. Lucero and other extended family.She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Nonnato Apodaca, of the family home; daughters and sons, Lupe Apodaca and Pablo Aguilar of Las Vegas, Jerry Apodaca and Stella Gallegos of Santa Fe, Margareth Apodaca of Las Vegas, Donald Apodaca and wife Angela of Edgewood, Teresita Apodaca and Johnny J. Martinez, John Apodaca all of Las Vegas, Elizabeth Salazar and husband Joseph of San Ignacio; 10 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren; brother, Eloy Wilfred Madrid and Mary of Santa Fe; sisters, Agnes Griego of Rio Rancho, and Bessie Cruz and husband, Alfonso, of Santa Fe; numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today (Friday) at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas.
