Bertha Levora Kirby, 92, passed on August 23, 2020. She was born to Jerome White and Brenda White in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 18, 1928.

She married William Kirby in 1964 and they lived together in Charlotte, North Carolina. Together they raised 4 children Erika Johnson (Malcom Johnson), Seth Kirby (Kim Kirby), Aisha Kirby, Tevin Kirby (Christine Kirby). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

Bertha graduated from West Mecklenburg High school in 1946 and received a degree from the Johnson C Smith University in 1950.

Bertha worked at Bank of America until he retired in 1995 and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people. She also volunteered at the A Child’s Place, inc in 1990-2002.

Seaman recruit Kirby served his country for 8 years in the Navy . She was deployed 2 times.
