Karls, Bernard L.Bernard L. Karls, age 74, of Malone, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on January 29, 1943, in Calumetville, the son of Walter and Ester (Freund) Karls. On September 12, 1964 he married Sharon Jean Luedtke in Fond du Lac. Bernard worked on the farm as a young boy, and later went on to a career as a cement finisher for forty-seven years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was involved in numerous fishing clubs. He played and coached softball for many years. Bernard was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. He always was looking to help others and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his dogs.Survivors include his wife Sharon of Malone; two children, Pam (Scott) Ohlrich of Fond du Lac, Bernie Karls of Brillion; three grandchildren, Bernie "Bud" (Brianna Larkee) Karls, Brandon and Melissa Ohlrich; one step-grandchild, Ashley Ohlrich; one great grandson, Spencer Karls; unofficial daughters, Lindsay (Clance) Catlin and Michelle "Shelly" (Brad) Koenigs and their families; nine siblings, Betty Dziadek, Amanda Socha, Irene (Leo) Mand, Alice Lemke, Mae Schmitz, Diane (Jim) Diedrich, Eugene (Betty) Karls, Andy Karls, and Vernon (Karen) Karls; and many nieces, nephews, and other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kathryn; three brothers-in-law; and his special dog pals, Tomiah and Hailey.Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 1-4 PM at St. John the Baptist Church-N9288 Hwy W, Johnsburg, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 4:00 PM at the church.
