It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard Richardson, a Baltimore, Maryland native, who left us on April 18, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on August 15, 1950, Bernard was the beloved son of Kenneth B. Richardson and Synetta Steward to whom he has joined in heaven; along with his three younger brothers Gus, Delancey, and Anthony Richardson.
Bernard is survived by his loving partner Joan Cherkas, and his two children Chalonda and Malik Richardson. He also leaves behind six adoring grandchildren Malik Richardson II, Tajari Richardson, Taja'Nai Richardson, Kamil Richardson, Richard Ortega, and Kordel Richardson; two nieces and a nephew, Keisha, Brittany, and Keimane Richardson; a sister-in law Pamela Richardson; four great-nieces and a great-nephew; and a number of cousins and friends, too many to name.
Bernard was known for his sharp mind and quick wit, which served him well during his time as a Pit Boss at the Maxim Casino. He also proudly served in the Air Force as a Sergeant, where his leadership and dedication were unmatched.
Outside of work, Bernard had a variety of hobbies that he loved to indulge in. He was an inventor, a bilingual enthusiast, a collector of knick-knacks, and a talented gardener. His green thumb was the envy of the neighborhood!
Unfortunately, Bernard’s battle with cancer proved to be his toughest opponent yet. Despite his best efforts, he passed away surrounded by loved ones who will always cherish the memories they shared with him.
May Bernard Richardson rest in peace, knowing that he brought laughter and joy to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
And as 'The Bern' would say, "Gotta go now, okby."
