Bennie Bee JacksonSan AngeloBennie Bee Jackson, 82, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, in San Angelo. He was born on Jan. 3, 1934, in Bragg City, Missouri, to Joseph Andrew Jackson and Galeta Renva (Wallace) Jackson. Following his graduation from Valley Park High School in Missouri, he enlisted in the United States Army and subsequently the United States Air Force.During his service he was stationed at many posts and bases abroad and at home. These include France, two tours in Korea and one tour in Vietnam. He served for a total of 23 years until his retirement in 1976. After retirement at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas, he was employed by Angelo State University as their electronics maintenance technician. He retired from ASU after 20 years to spend time with family and pursue hobbies.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his two brothers, Edmund Dee Jackson and Lowell Wayne Jackson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara Jackson; and their three daughters and their spouses, Joanna L. Jackson of San Angelo, Texas, Jennifer E. and Howard Marks of Odessa, Texas and Julianne K. and Alex Decker of Lewisville, Texas; one granddaughter, Clarissa K. Decker of Lewisville, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to express their love and appreciation for the staff and caregivers at The Springs Alzheimer's Memory Care Center for their excellent loving care of Bennie and for their support for the family, and also to Kindred At home Hospice for their care of Bennie during his last months. Visitation with the family present is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church with graveside service to follow in the Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with military honors.Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and sign the online guestbook at johnsons-funeralhome.com.
