Bashar was born in Brooklyn on July 20th, 1999. He grew up very poor and thought his only way out was violence and "being a thug." During the time he was in the streets and gangbanging, he had only one thing he loved more than family and that was music. He became so involved in music that he felt he no longer needed gangs and realized that his whole life he had be a product of his environment. In 2018 he signed with Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records as "Pop Smoke." He loved outings with family and attending family functions as he rose to fame and before. Shahar touched many children's lives by talking to kids at schools about how he grew up and how he did not want to hear about any more black dying at a young age. He strongly advised the kids to stay out the streets because the school system will make them more successful.
