WOLCOTTVILLE — Barbara E. Young, 85, of Wolcottville died Sunday, February 8, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Young was a lifetime LaGrange County resident and a homemaker. She was a member of Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church in rural Wolcottville, and the Ladies Aide of the church. She was also a member of the Suits Us Friendship Club and the Business and Professional Women. She volunteered for many years at LaGrange Hospital. Mrs. Young was born on Dec. 15, 1929, in LaGrange to Emmery R. and Mary S. (Chupp) Miller. On Sept. 16, 1954, in Wolcottville she married Robert L. Young. He preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1998. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Dale Naragon of Columbia City and Ramona and Chris Wherry of New Haven; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Marti Young of Wolcottville and Gerald and Dalonda Young of Wolcottville; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Edna and Raymond Yoder of Topeka, Ida Schmucker of Goshen and Lizzie Ann Raber of Wolcottville; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Levi and Joyce Miller of Holly, Michigan, Samuel and Ruby Miller of LaGrange and Amos and Alta Miller of LaGrange. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Leonard Young on July 8, 1973; a sister, Lydia Miller; and brother, Ora Miller. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church, 4860 S. C.R. 450E, Wolcottville The Revs. David Matthews and Carldean Merrifield will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Woodruff Cemetery in rural Wolcottville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange.
