Barbara L. "Barb" Clawson, 72, Monticello, passed away at 11:55 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at the Lakeview Village Senior Living Nursing Home of Monticello.She was born on June 10, 1944, in Flint, Mich., to the late William "Captain Bill" and Jane (VanMeter) Luse. On Dec. 14, 1960, in Oklahoma, she married Robert L. "Bob" Clawson; he passed away on April 13, 2000. Barb had lived in Yeoman most all of her adult life, and moved to Monticello 15 years ago. She had worked at and retired from the former White County Memorial Hospital of Monticello. Barb had owned and operated the former Mode O'Day Women's Clothing Store in Monticello in the 1980's. She was always prideful of her late father, William "Captain Bill" Luse, who built the Madam Carroll, the "Queen of Lake Freeman".Barb managed the concession stand on the Madam Carroll for many years. She was a loving wife, wonderful, caring mom, and her family was everything to her. As a healthcare provider, she took care of her patients as her own family. Barb truly had the heart of an angel. Surviving are her children, David (Patty) Clawson, Tennessee, Lora (Brad) Brim, Monticello, and Kimberly A. "Kim" (Dennis) Rush, Monticello; grandchildren, Carrie Clawson–Whan, Derek Clawson and Abby Rush, all of Monticello; step-grandchildren, Jonathan Brim, Monticello, and Betsy Brim, Dunnellon, Fla.; three great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Smith, Cape Coral Fla.; and brother, William "Bill" Luse Jr., Monticello.Barb was preceded in death by her parents, William "Captain Bill" and Jane (VanMeter) Luse; husband, Robert L. "Bob" Clawson; and sister, Beverly Greene. No visitation or service are scheduled for the public, everything is private for the family.
