Barbara (Barwell) Himes, 75, of Millcreek, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017, peacefully, in her sleep, surrounded by family, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on January 2, 1942, in Buffalo, N.Y., daughter of the late Charles and Laura Rhodes Barwell, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Himes, Sr.; her son, David; two brothers, Charles Barwell Jr. And Laverne Barwell; and one sister, Margaret Barwell Morris. She loved to be in the presence of family as much as possible. She enjoyed baking, Steelers, scary movies, WWE, and playing cards. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Chicky Himes (Janet), Paula Tompkins (Timothy, Sr.), Timothy "TT" Himes, Sr. (Tammy), and Lenny Himes (Marlo); her grandchildren, Crystal Ayala (Jose), Timothy Jr. (Sue), David, Christian, Katryna, Justin (Caralee), Sarah, Joshua, Timothy "TT" Jr., Aalysa, Dylan, and Kyle; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the time of the Life Tribute Service celebrated at 8 p.m. Private burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
