Barbara Ann Boero1933 - 2017Barbara Ann Boero, 84, of Land O' Lakes, Fla., formerly of Kenosha, Wis., and Homestead, Fla., died peacefully with family members by her side on Friday Sept. 15, 2017, at Bayfront hospital in Dade City, Fla. Barbara was born on March 26, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the only daughter of the late Leo and Clara (Waczkowski) Nikson.She graduated from Mary D. Bradford in 1951.On Oct. 27, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Felix R. Boero, the love of her life at St. Marks Catholic Church in Kenosha, Wis. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1994.She loved reading, painting and making quilts and jewelry. She made numerous quilts for the NICU in Florida. Barbara enjoyed getting out with her friends, playing bingo and being the Queen Mum of her chapter of the Red Hats Society in Lady Lakes, Fla.She is survived by four daughters, Barbara (Dale) Wollin of Alexandra, Minn., Merri (Keith) Schmidt of Land O' Lakes, Fla., Sarah Taube of Azalea, Ore., Sue (Mark) Schmidt of Sylvania, Ohio., and a brother, Jim (Beverly) Nikson of Watertown, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren one niece and three nephews.In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Brooks; grandson, Barry Brooks and two siblings, Jerome Andrew, Leo Nikson and son-in-law, Rick Taube.A grave side service will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 7, 2017, at Palms Woodlawn Cemetery in Homestead, Fla.In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy a memorial donations to the family would be greatly appreciated C/O Merri Schmidt.
