Barbara Ann Davis Obituary

Aug 21, 1951 - Aug 20, 2023

This obituary is administered by:

“Love as powerful as your mother's for you leaves its own mark. To have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever.”

Barbara Davis, 72, of Pasadena, California, passed on August 20, 2023. Barbara was born was born to parents, Charlie Dews and Odessa Bennett, in Berwind, West Virginia on August 21, 1951.

She graduated and received her diploma from San Fernando High School in 1968 and had a career as a Telephone Operator with Pacific Bell for a number of years before retiring.

Barbara was greatly admired for her selfless kindness as a dedicated safety net for foster children, having fostered over 15 children since 2006.

She enjoyed traveling, attending live television broadcasts and made her mark in acting by being an extra in a handful of projects, being a stand-in for Angela Bassett and having a part in the movie The Craft.

Barbara met her first husband, James Wyatt in 1968. They were married and together they raised their son, Terran Wyatt. Following the passing of Mr. Wyatt, 10 years later, Barbara met and later married Charles Smith. Together they raised her second child, daughter, Desiree Smith.

Barbara is survived by Shirley Calloway, Sister; Terran Wyatt, Son; Desiree Smith, Daughter; Desiree Noland, Granddaughter; Serenity Wyatt, Granddaughter; Terran Wyatt Jr, Grandson; Pierre Wyatt, Grandson, Samantha Herrod; Stepdaughter (from her 3rd to Eugene Herrod in 1989); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.

A mother’s love knows no bounds. From the moment you're brought into her life, she is continuously giving, nurturing and showering you with her care and affection. It is because of this special bond that makes imagining your world without Barbara feel unfathomable. But as many sadly know too well, when your mom actually leaves this earth, it's worse than anything you could have thought. Although this day of celebration may turn into a day of mourning and nostalgia, and although your mom is no longer with you in a physical sense, her love will forever live within you.
