FREMONT — Barbara J. Angel, 71, of Long Lake, Fremont died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital. Mrs. Angel was an administrative assistant and retired from the Steuben County Soil and Water Conservation District in 2010 after 30 years of service. She formerly worked as an administrative assistant for Sanborn, Steketee, Otis & Evans Architecture and Engineering firm in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Toledo. She was born on May 19, 1944, in Toledo to Leonard and Anne (Plenzler) Szymanowski. She married Stephen L. Angel on May 13, 1967, in Toledo. He survives. She was a member of the St. Paul Chapel Catholic Church at Clear Lake where she was a member of the choir and was the publisher newsletter for the church. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Sue Szymanowski of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters-in-law, Chris Scott of Parker, Colorado, and Sister Marilyn Ann Angel, S.N.D., of Port Clinton, Ohio; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Joy Angel of Toledo, Ohio; and nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ronald Scott; and her grandparents. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Chapel, Clear Lake, Fremont, with Father Robert Showers and Father Wilfrid Logsdon officiating.
