Ashleigh BreeAnne Rickert Obituary

Jul 29, 1995 - Jul 23, 2025

This obituary is administered by:

We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Ashleigh Rickert, born on July 29, 1995, and sadly taken from us too soon on July 23, 2025, in Quantico, Ashleigh, was the beloved daughter of Randy (Boomie) Rickert and Melanie Wandason.

Ashleigh leaves behind a legacy of five wonderful children, Sienna Roscoe, Salienna Roscoe, Bransynn Roscoe, Ganstyne Roscoe, and Randolynne Roscoe. Each of them inherited Ashleigh's quick wit and vibrant spirit.

Ashleigh’s academic journey was as ambitious as it was inspiring. She began her studies at Lake Murray University, where she earned her CNA license and CPR certification. Her pursuit of knowledge continued at Oklahoma State University, where she obtained her first bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Never one to settle for less than excellence, she went on to attend Oklahoma University, earning two additional master’s degrees and three more bachelor’s degrees. Along the way, she acquired countless certifications in law enforcement duties—including those related to the FBI—demonstrating her relentless commitment to public service.

Her professional career reflected that same passion and drive. Ashleigh served as a Deputy Sheriff for Love, Marshall, and Carter Counties and later became a State Trooper for the State of Texas. Her dedication led her to serve as an FBI Crime Investigator—a role that exemplified both her courage and compassion.

As an FBI Crime Investigator, Ashleigh took her job seriously, always searching for the truth and justice in every case she tackled. Her dedication to her work was unmatched, even though she had a tendency to bring her work home with her – much to the chagrin of her family.

Ashleigh had a few quirky hobbies that brought joy into her life, such as singing in the shower, writing mystery novels in her spare time, and coloring outside the lines. She had a knack for making everyone around her laugh with her infectious sense of humor.

Unfortunately, Ashleigh's life was cut short by a tragic and senseless act of violence. As we mourn her passing, let us remember the joy and laughter she brought into each of our lives.

Beyond her impressive career achievements, Ashleigh was a woman of deep faith and boundless love for her family. A devoted Christian, she attended church every Wednesday and Sunday without fail. Her home was filled with laughter, love, and the joyful chaos of children—Sienna Roscoe, Salienna Roscoe, Bransynn Roscoe, Ganstyne Roscoe, and Randolynne Roscoe—all of whom were the center of her world. Whether cheering them on at sports outings or simply watching them play and argue with affection in their voices, Ashleigh cherished every moment spent with them.

She also shared close bonds with Alexis & Brandon Gonzales of Pottsboro, Texas; Ashlynn & Grant Martinez of Ada, Oklahoma; Ashleenia & Terrell Escvonzeo of Waco, Texas; Brooke Sheldon of Temple, Texas; La’Shaynne (Braxton) & Savanna Davis of Milo, Oklahoma; La’Seanne (Brayden) & Melanie (Brandie) Davis of Gainesville, Texas; along with numerous other beloved family members and friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity.

She was preceded in death by Melanie Wandason; Randy “Boomie” Rickert; Clayton Rickert; Kendralynne Davis; Cathy Spradling; Bobby Spradling; Creed Hartman-Spradling; Wranglynne Salazar-Spradling; Eleanor McClendon; and Liliauhnna Escobedo.

Ashleigh was known for being fun-loving and outgoing—a true go-getter who poured herself wholeheartedly into everything she did. She never had a hurt bone in her body and embraced everyone with open arms. Her forever happy spot was being wrapped in the love of her family.

A celebration of Ashleigh’s life will be held at a later date among those who knew and loved her best.

As one message from the family so poignantly says: “We ain’t angry at you love—you’re the greatest thing we lost! May you now rest in peace sweet angel!”
