Juneau, Arthur K.Arthur K. Juneau passed away peacefully in Naples, FL on Christmas Eve, 6 weeks shy of his 100th birthday. He was born on February 4, 1917, son of Arthur E. and Elizabeth (Kohl) Juneau. After graduating from Wausau High School he and his older brother Harold became partners with their father in Juneau Supply Company, a wholesale distributor of automotive and industrial supplies. He married Bernice Neitzke on August 24, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, IA. Art, who served in World War II in the Army Air Corps from 1943-1945, took over the family business in 1970 and sold it to George Gillette in 1977.Art loved music. He had a band in high school and continued to play the piano at parties with friends and for his own enjoyment. He was also an enthusiastic golfer with 8 holes-in-one to his credit, his last at age 87. In 1962 he and several partners built Rib Mountain Golf Course, the largest night-time golf course in the Midwest at the time. Art and his wife Bernie enjoyed curling during the winter and participated in many bonspiels. They always loved a good party and made many friends through curling.After retiring, the Juneaus became snowbirds, spending 6 months in Naples, Sanibel and finally settling full-time at The Landings in Ft. Myers, FL. Bernie, his wife of 72 years, preceded him in death in 2012. He is survived by son Peter (Diane) Juneau, Naples; daughters Mary (Richard) Kozitka, Lake Forest, IL; and Barbara (Tim) Augustine, Rothschild; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.Services were private.
