Yunger, Arlene M.Arlene M. Yunger, age 80, died peacefully Wednesday evening, October 5, 2016 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Sheboygan Falls.Arlene was born on May 8, 1936 at her home in Collins, daughter of the late Raymond and Norma (Broehm) Schmahl. She graduated with the class of 1954 from Kiel High School. On November 2, 1957, she married George R. Yunger at St. Peters UCC in Kiel. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2005. In her early years, she worked at Brost Foods in School Hill and Henning's Cheese. Arlene worked many years at Lakeshore Technical College from where she retired in 1997. She was an active member at St. Peters UCC, participating in the Women's Choir and taught Sunday School, she also enjoyed her time helping with Quilting on Wednesday's at church. After Arlene's retirement, she enjoyed helping on her daughter's farm, and taking care of her horse. Gardening, flowers and canning were some of her favorite hobbies. She always looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her weekly dinner nights with the family. Arlene is survived by her three children: John (Lynn) Yunger, Spring Valley, Robin (Mark) Kaufmann, rural Valders and Beth (Bill) Hecker, rural Kiel; four grandchildren: Elizabeth (Parker) Hagenow, Jessica (Davin) Horneck, Adam Hecker and Ryan Hecker; seven great-grandchildren: Mason, Aubree, Carter, Dayton, Amelia, Alexis and Dawson. She is further survived by her two sisters: Marian Schneider, Collins and Janet (Lee) Meyer, Green Bay, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: George, parents: Raymond and Norma, brother-in-law, Gilbert Schneider, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Janet (George) Bernstein, Ruth (Wally) Lange, Joseph (Marguarite) Yunger, Robert (Frances) Yunger, Joyce (Cass) Konczak and John (Reba) Yunger; and two stepfathers: Lester Ott and Barney Faber.Funeral Services for Arlene will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 10, 2016, at St. Peters UCC (424 Fremont Street, Kiel), officiating at the service will be Rev. Christopher Ross, with burial to follow at Ucker Cemetery, Town of Schleswig. The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, October 9, 2016, from 3:00PM until 6:00PM at the Meiselwitz- Vollstedt Funeral Home, (815 6th Street, Kiel).
