Arlene J. CousinsArlene J. Springer Cousins, age 74, of Southbury, beloved widow of the late Nicholas Cousins, passed away on September 23, 2017 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Arlene was born on October 22, 1942 in Bridgeport to the late Charles and Lena (Chiatroni) Springer and has been a life long area resident. She was a graduate of Bassick High School, and worked as a bookkeeper for over twenty years. Arlene was an avid gardener, and enjoyed taking road trips in her RV. She also enjoyed boating and had her captain's license. Arlene will be remembered as a great cook and homemaker, who loved to entertain. Survivors include her devoted son, Michael Kuntz and his wife Connie of North Carolina, Michael's father, Richard Kuntz of North Carolina, her sister, Patricia Kopcik of Stratford, brothers, Charles Springer Jr and his wife Susan of Southbury, and David Springer and his wife Leighann of Stratford, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Arlene was pre-deceased by her daughter, Deborah Kuntz, granddaughter, Justine Kuntz and brother, Robert Springer. Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Vincent's MC and Connecticut Hospice for their kind and loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 28th at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at St. Lawrence Church 505 Shelton Ave Huntington. All other services and interment will be private.
