Ardith C. Parent, age 97, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010. She was born on Aug. 16, 1912, in McIvor, daughter of Joseph Jordan and Delia (Budreau) Jordan. She married Harold Parent on April 12, 1929; he preceded her in death in 1991. Ardith enjoyed hunting, playing cards, quilting and working in her garden. When Harold was still alive, they also loved to travel together. She was the longtime organist for St. James Church in Whittemore. Ardith is survived by her children, Janice Rabideau of Auburn, Doris O'Neil of Bay City and Nettie Jean (Leo) Sylvester of Midland; 35 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, David Parent; and several brothers and sisters. Visitation with rosary was Sunday, May 9, at Buresh-Kobs Funeral Home in Tawas City. Funeral services were Monday, May 10, at St. James Catholic Church, Whittemore, with the Rev. Fr. J. August Franczek officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, East Tawas.
