LAUREL HILL — Archie Amos Dunn, Sr., 75, passed away at his home on April 1, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Springfield Church of God officiated by Pastor David Shoemake. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery.

Archie was born on Aug. 7, 1938 in Scotland County, son of the late Lonzie and Lizzie Goins Dunn. He formerly worked with Armstrong Rubber Company and then retired from St. Andrews Presbyterian College after many years of service. He served as a member of the Springfield Church of God and loved hunting with the 401 Hunting Club. He was a fan of NASCAR and loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his children Matthew Dunn and Sarina J. Dunn and his sister Truly Elvis.

Archie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Jean D. Dunn of their home, son Archie Dunn, Jr. of Laurel Hill, brother James Leslie Goins, sisters Margie Odom, Peggy Cox, Stella Dunn, and Gertrude Huerta, grandchildren Timothy Dunn, Kasey Wallace, Clay Dunn, Alanna Dunn, and Dakota Dunn, and great-grandson Hunner Wallace.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
