Tony, Anthony Jon Givens loving husband and father passed away peacefully on December 14, 2019.  Tony was born on August 25, 1948 in Amherst Texas. He grew up in Plainview Texas and attended Plainview Highschool then Principia Upper School (‘67).  He then majored in Political Science at Principia College (71’). Following graduation he moved to Dallas, Texas and started Golden Spur Construction which eventually led him to create Pavement Services Corporation in 1983.  Tony never worked a day in his life because he loved leading and growing Pavement Service by inspiring, encouraging, and supporting countless customers, vendors and employees over the years. He was an active member of Third Church of Christ, Scientist in Dallas as well as an involved member of the community.  Tony lived his life by the Golden Rule always treating others with love and compassion.     

He is preceded in death by his parents Bettye and A.J. Givens, and his sister Stay Cognasi.  He is survived by his wife Nadine Givens, son Austin Givens, daughter Katharine “Kaki” Edwards, her husband Sal Edwards, and grandchildren James and Anthony Edwards.  As well as brother-in-law Alfred Grab, his wife Jan Grab, nephew Nathan Grab wife Beth Grab, niece Kate Powe, her husband Trevor, their childern Kennedy, and Daylee Powe. Also, nephew Will Haggard and his daughter Lily Haggard as well as neice Shelly Buehne and her daughters Kyelee, Sydnee, and Baylee Buehne

 A memorial service celebrating the life of Tony Givens will be held at Third Church of Christ Scientist Dallas, 4419 Oak Lawn, Dallas, Texas 75219 on Thursday, December 19th at 11:00 am.  

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Third Church of Christ, Scientist, 4419 Oak Lawn, Dallas, Texas 75218 or the Christian Science nursing facility -The Leaves, 1230 W Spring Valley Rd, Richardson, 75080.
