Andrea Baines DANVILLE - Andrea (Hodges) Baines, 81, passed away at 9:16 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021, at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born Jan. 8, 1940 in Portsmouth,VA the daughter of Ernest and Edith (Young) Hodges, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Dale E. Baines Jan. 12, 1971, in Portsmouth until his passing Oct. 5, 2002. Those who will miss her include: her sons, Dale (Brandi) Baines of Baltimore, David Lawhorn of Ridge Farm, and Jimmie (Kathy) Lawhorn of Covington, Ind.; her daughter, Mary (Adam) Brooks of Baltimore; her 12 grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; her sister, Fran (Charlie) Bratton of Suffolk; and her many nieces and nephews including her special niece, Freda Collins of Crestview, Fla. She was preceded in death by: her son, Bobby Joe Lawhorn and her sister, Beverly (Hodges) Patrinely. Andrea was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed talking with family and friends on the telephone. She cherished spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Andrea requested cremation and no services. Donations may be made in Andrea's name to the Special Olympics.
