Ambrosita L. Sanchez, 92, a longtime resident of The Sanchez Ranch and Pueblo, Colo. passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in Las Vegas.She was born on Aug. 3, 1922, to Delfido Lucero and Rafelita Lujan in Tecolote.A Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.Ambrosita was a caring, supportive and energetic woman, always willing to learn new things. Everyone will always remember her delicious cooking, her hospitality and her patience. She was an excellent seamstress. She worked for 10 years at New Mexico Highlands University in housekeeping, and later helped her husband Abran run the Moonlight Bar and dance hall. We will miss her famous Christmas bizcochitos. Her warmth and love will live on our hearts. Special thanks to Ambercare, Arthur, Marvalee, Star, Kyle, and Victoria and also those whose thoughts and prayers were with her and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Delfido and Rafelita Lucero; husband: Abran T. Sanchez; brothers: Benjamin Lucero, Salvador Lucero and Casey Lucero; and sister: Marcella Martinez.She is survived by her daughter: Rachel Martinez and husband Arthur of Las Vegas; brothers and sisters: David Lucero, Flora Rice and husband, Jerry, Tina Ulibarri and husband, Tony, Viola Lucero, all of Las Vegas, Charlotte Lucero of Santa Fe, and Demi Lucero of Albuquerque; grandchildren: John Robinson and wife, Darla, of Ft. Worth, Texas, Marvalee Robinson, Star Chavez and husband, John, all of Las Vegas; great-grandchildren: Kyle Moore, Victoria Martinez and John David Chavez, all of Las Vegas, Kate Robinson of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Caleb Chavez of Las Vegas; sister-in-law: Sadie Lucero of Denver; brother-in-law: Nestor Martinez of Guadalupita; numerous nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives and friends.Rosary services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will follow the Rosary with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant.
