Amber Shepard1977-2014Nibley, Utah - Our beautiful and loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Amber Leishman Concoby Shepard passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36 on May 14, 2014. She is now in the arms of her Heavenly Father and was met with joy by her deceased husband, Andrew, and her brother, Justin, who loved her dearly.Amber was born on Dec. 21, 1977, in Logan, Utah, to Larry Jess Earl and DeAnn Olsen Leishman. She was later adopted by Clyde Wyatt Leishman. She was raised in Nibley, Utah. Amber is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She actively served in many callings.Amber was a track star at Mountain Crest and Logan High Schools, where she excelled and holds many records. Her name is still on display on a plaque at Mountain Crest for her achievements. Amber graduated from Logan High School in 1996 and then went to the University of Nevada Las Vegas on a track scholarship. While attending UNLV, Amber met the first love of her life, Andrew Concoby, and they were married in November of 1996. They were later sealed in the Las Vegas Temple. Amber and Andrew had two children, Kendon and Kortney Concoby. In 2002, Andrew passed away. Amber eventually remarried and had two more children, Allie and Sunnie Christensen with Douglas Christensen.In July of 2009, Amber married Justin Shepard. She always said she never thought she would have another chance at true love and felt so blessed. Justin and Amber had three children together, Andie, Jagger and Tripp Shepard. Justin and Amber raised their family together for the past five years in Nibley, Utah.Amber was a one-of-a-kind mom! Her kids were her life! She had a welcoming, lively, fun-loving spirit that her family and everyone that knew her enjoyed. She would always give to anyone in need, and always put her children and other's needs before her own. Amber delivered Meals on Wheels for 13 years of her life. She always took her children along to teach them service to others. Every holiday was spent at a homeless shelter with her husband and kids showing love to others. Amber has many awards for her service. Many times, Amber and the kids would come home with a story about some elderly person she had seen carrying groceries home and they would give them a ride. Often dinner out with Amber ended up with the extra company of any homeless person she saw outside the restaurant.Amber loved to mother! She welcomed and loved may other kids, nieces and nephews, and just any kid that seemed to need "a little mothering," she was there for them whole-heartedly, with great enthusiasm and her fun-loving spirit.Amber had a rare beauty that not many people possess. She was not only beautiful on the outside, she had a beautiful and happy personality that everyone gravitated to. She was easy to love and her children adored her. There was nothing that her kids could ask for that she wouldn't try to move mountains and earth to make sure they got it. She gave her children so many fun and memorable experiences, vacations, cruises, just about anything to see her kids happy and enjoying life. That's what Amber was all about, giving everyone lasting memorable and fun experiences that they will now be able to remember and cherish forever. Amber was always there to cheer her kids on, as they participated in many sports throughout their lives. She was their biggest fan and was so proud of all of them. She never missed a chance to tell them how proud she was of them and that she loved them. Her kids were "Her World!" Her kind and loving spirit will forever be in the hearts of her dear children, her husband, her family and all that knew her.We love you, Mom, and we'll always remember the awesome example that you showed us, and we'll try our best to continue to make you proud!Amber is survived by her husband, Justin, her children, Kendon, Kortney, Allie, Sunnie, Andie, Jagger and Tripp, and three step-children, Kolby, Ruger and Jessica Shepard. Her children were her pride and joy. They will forever miss their awesome and loving mom and best friend. She is also survived by her parents, Clyde and DeAnn Leishman of Nibley; Larry Jess Earl of Logan, Utah; her brother, Jason (Melanie) Leishman of Reno, Nevada; sisters Shelly (Jerry) Bishop of Bountiful, Utah, McKenzie (Bill) Reeder of Wellsville, Utah, Jenny Earl of Logan and Sara Earl of Logan. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Concoby, and her brother, Justin Leishman.Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, May 19, in the Nibley 8th Ward Chapel, 130 W. 2600 South in Nibley. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan, and prior to the services from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net.
