RACINE - Amalie M. “Molly” Wachiconis, 95, passed away on January 15, 2015 at Vitas Innovative Hospice Care in West Allis. She was born on April 28, 1919 in Ellsworth, Kansas the daughter of the late Frank and Martha (nee: Warttig) Fellbaum. On August 14, 1953 Molly was united in marriage to the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Wachiconis. After graduation from high school she obtained her degree as a Registered Nurse, working at St. Mary’s Hospital, presently, Wheaton Franciscan Health Care-All Saints for many years retiring in 1979. In her earlier years Molly loved to crochet, knit and needle point. Molly found great enjoyment in playing video poker at home and vacations to Las Vegas and Mesquite, Nevada with her family. Through the years she and the family also traveled throughout the United States by car seeing all the sites on the way to their destinations including, California, Las Vegas, Florida, Washington D.C., and Niagara Falls. What she loved most were animals, especially dogs and cats which she grew up with. Molly will be dearly missed by her son, Steven Charles Wachiconis, Nancy Marie (Barry) Sanders all of Racine, in addition to nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles on March 9, 2004, four brothers and sisters-in-law, Edmund (Evelyn) Fellbaum, Heinze, Herbert and Frank (Frances) Fellbaum, Charles (Catherine) Bingham, John (Adele) Kolinski, August (Veronica) Lenzke and Marcella Wachiconis. Family and friends are invited to meet at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 510 Kewaunee St. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Molly’s service honoring and celebrating her life will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jack Gilbert officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Molly will be laid to rest next to her husband at West Lawn Memorial Park following services. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Molly in a special way may direct memorials to Hope Safe House or Vitas Hospice. The entire Wachiconis family would like to extend a very heart felt thank you to all the special caregivers at Vitas Hospice and Visiting Angels Franklin who cared for Molly.
