Mr. Alvin Randolph Crocker departed his life on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at VCU/MCV Medical Center, Richmond, Va. He was born on August 5, 1954, to Virginia Lee Crocker and the late James Lee Crocker. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. Alvin was a native of Wakefield, Va., and educated in Sussex County Public Schools.He joined Mars Hill A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and a jack-of-all-trades.Left to cherish his memories is his loving mother, Virginia L. Crocker of Wakefield, Va.; three children, Orlando Gatling (Rhonda) of Petersburg, Va., Tabitha Atkins of Newport News, Va., and Tobey Crocker of Chesterfield, Va.; sixteen grandchildren, ShaWanda, Brian, Yanick, Orlandis, Javonna, Latrell, Elijah, Samantha, Shamika, Doneil, Jermaine, Isaiah, DehTrunte, Dhestinie, Deja and Dylan; ten great grandchildren, Demarion, DanKera, Tyler, Sevyn, Devon, Braylen, Taylor, Tyler, Toryn and Ky'morre; two sisters, Ruby Allen of Wakefield, Va., and Ernestine Brock of Surry, Va.; one brother, Elder Robert L. Crocker (Matilda) of Nashville, TN; two aunts, Dorothy Clarke (Richard) of Wakefield, Va., Alice Jones of Waverly, Va., Orine Jones of Chester, Va., Alice Jones of Norfolk, Va., and Rebia Spearman (Norwood) of Newburgh, NY; two uncles, Paul Jones (Florine) of Baltimore, Md., and Samuel L. Brown of Wakefield, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Services for Mr. Alvin R. Crocker will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 38070 Rocky Hock Road, Wakefield, Va., the Rev. Kenneth L. Zollicoffe, officiating and Elder Robert L. Crocker, eulogist. Interment to follow at Booker T.
