Hintz, AlvinAlvin E. Hintz, age 88, of Oshkosh, passed away at Evergreen Health Center on Monday, January 9, 2017 after more than a year of declining health. He was born on July 14, 1928 to the late Edward and Jessie (Reynolds) Hintz on Knapp Street Road in Winnebago. He was an Air Force veteran, having served from 1950 to 1954, and a member of the American Legion. He worked a variety of jobs, but eventually retired in the 1990's as head of maintenance at Mercy Medical Center. Alvin was the beloved uncle of 17 nieces and nephews. His favorite pastimes included ballroom dancing, bowling, gardening, and playing horseshoes. Alvin is survived by his sister, Norma Wastrack of North Fond du Lac; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Orion; and two sisters: Emily Anders and Josephine Dudzinski; as well as his longtime companion, Margaret "Peggy" Watson. The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Seefeld Funeral Home followed by military honors. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.The family extends a special thank you to Evergreen Health Center for their wonderful care.
