Allen R. Schambaugh, 84, of Kingwood, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Verby Y. Schambaugh; daughter, Kathryn L. Schambaugh Iserhardt; brother, Lawrence Schambaugh, granddaughters, Andrea L. Iserhardt, Charlotte Iserhardt Skipper, and Melissa Schambaugh Airhart; grandson, Ryan A. Schambaugh; step-grandson, Eric Claridge; great-grandchildren, Angelena Iserhardt, John Skipper, Aiden Airhart, Mila Airhart. Allen was preceded in death by his sons, Kenneth A. Schambaugh, Charles W. Schambaugh, Stephen G. Schambaugh, and grandson, Charles A. Schambaugh.

Allen was born on November 30, 1929, in Iota, Louisiana to Charles and Ozea Schambaugh. A 40-year resident of Kingwood, TX, Allen retired in January, 1988 after 31 years of service with Shell Oil Company. He enjoyed family, golf and gardening. Allen will be greatly missed.

Services were held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in the Chapel at Kingwood Funeral Home and he was laid to rest at Rosewood Cemetery in Porter, TX.
