Koenig, Alice Y.Alice Yvonne Koenig, age 96, was called home to her eternal resting place on November 16, 2016. Alice was born on August 30, 1920 in North Freedom the daughter of the late Richard and Eva (Black) Hinz. She was united in marriage to the Rev. Lyle J. Koenig on June 21, 1941 and their marriage was blessed with five children. Alice was a long time and faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Appleton and she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Alice is survived by her four children, Sharol Jackson, Appleton; Karen (Vern) Bork, Appleton; Wayne (Sharon) Koenig, Fall Creek, WI; and Joan (Fred) Rath, Tampa, FL; a son-in-law, William Hansen, 11 grandchildren, Kari, Lynette, Sam, Lisa, Shaun, Jodi, Ryan, Tiffany, Fred, Sam and Sarah, 20 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Dawn Jones and Nola Pierce. She was preceded in death by her, husband and a daughter, Corrine Hansen.The funeral service for Alice will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Bethany Lutheran Church 530 W Parkway Blvd, Appleton with the Rev. Zach A. Gebert officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Alice's family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Alice's name.
