Alice L. Zapata Alice L. Zapata, age 80, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Montvale, NJ died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, SC. Mrs. Zapata was born on February 9, 1936 in Bronx, NY, one of eight children of the late Michael Guckenberger and Augusta Boscheinen Guckenberger. She graduated high school in the Bronx and was a loving and caring homemaker. She enjoyed crochet, readingand spending time with her family. Mrs. Zapata was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Angel M. Zapata and their son, Anthony Zapata. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Slocum (Jeff); sister, Katherine Diccianni; grandchildren, April Felix (Carlos), Nicole Zapata Vicidomini(Michael), and Anthony Zapata; and great-grandchildren, Devon Zapata and Chloe Felix. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. The funeral service and entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to your favorite humane society or animal shelter.
