Alfonso Batres, also known as "Poncho" by his friends and family, passed away on October 31, 2025, in Hammond, Indiana, United States. He was born on November 29, 1945, and lived a life full of laughter, love, and countless adventures.

Alfonso married his beloved wife Raquel in the year 1976, and together they welcomed their daughter Vanessa into the world. As a proud father, he cherished every moment spent with his daughter and later on with his two grandchildren.

Alfonso was a dedicated Marine who served his country with honor, reaching the rank of Sergeant. His bravery and commitment to service will always be remembered by those who knew him.

Alfonso's warm smile and larger-than-life personality will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He brought joy and light into the lives of everyone he met, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
