Albert (Waco) Ramirez RodriguezOxnard, CAAlbert (Waco) Ramirez Rodriguez of Glendale, AZ and formally of Thousand Oaks,CA passed away May 9, 2017, to meet his Savior Jesus Christ and to join his beloved wife Katherine on their 62nd Anniversary of Marriage. Al was born on 10/15/1930 in Oxnard CA. He grew up in the Historic Tortilla Flats Neighborhood in Ventura. He loved to tell his family stories of the old neighborhood. He joined the Army at the early age of 17 and served in the Korean War, as an Operations and Intelligence Specialist and was part of the Historic 7th Division Drive to the Manchurian Border, the invasion of Inchan to Wansan,as well as the battle of Pork Chop Hill, and evacuated Hunchan Bay. He fought in some of the heaviest of battles. Upon returning home, he met his future wife Katherine Lynch Yellowhorse at a USO dance in Tacoma, WA. They married on May 9, 1955, and had 5 children, RuthAnn, Mary, Eugene, Andrea and Paul. He learned the trade of Carpentry, Concrete and Landscaping. He moved his family to Thousand Oaks in 1963. Al was part of many development projects such as freeways and buildings in the LA and San Fernando areas. Al was an avid Rifle and Traditional Bowhunter as well as a Fisherman. His annual hunting and fishing trips to Colorado, Utah, Arizona & Montana were a big part of his life. He would make his own Bows and reload his own ammunition. His weekends were spent practicing and competing with his bow, also belonging to the Conejo Valley Archery Club in the late 1960's and 70's. Albert and Katherine retired in Glendale, AZ enjoying time with Andrea's family, along with Gene and Paul who made the move to be near. Al enjoyed the annual Dove Hunt in Sept every year with his children and grandchildren. Al in his retirement years carried on with his Patriarch duties sharing his wisdom from life experiences as well his furniture and home building knowledge. Al had deep admiration and respect from his family and friends, he will be greatly missed by many. At a late age in life, after believing he was an only child, Al was blessed to know, he had additional siblings from two families. Albert, is survived by his children, Ruth Ann Wolters (Ralf), Mary Pete ( Albert) Eugene Rodriguez, Andrea Bridges (Ted) and Paul Rodriguez; his Grandchildren, Michael Paul, Matthew, Melissa(Kyle) , Justin, Cory, Travis, Vanessa, Shannon (Josh) and David. 2 great grandchildren, Caleb and Elijah.He is also survived by his siblings: Helen R Gonzalez, Henry Rodriguez, Albert Rodriguez, Candy Rodriguez,Willie Rodriguez, Freddy Rodriguez, Evelyn Rodriguez; Albert Rodriguez, Raymond Rodriguez, Mark Rodriguez, Yolanda R Suquett,Grace Rodriguez, Lupe Rodriguez, Antonia Gutierrez, Steven Rodriguez. He preceded in death by his wife, Katherine and his Mother Ruth Ramirez Ortiz. Celebration of Life Service will be at Encounter-Bible Fellowship Church, 6950 Ralston St., Ventura, CA 93003, Burial to follow: Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Rd. Ventura, CA.
