Albert Coates, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born on June 19, 1938, to John Coates and Josephine Bernett.

Albert was married to his beloved wife, Bessie Coates, for 52 wonderful years. Together, they raised two children, Dennis Coates (spouse Tina Coates) and Gloria Patterson (spouse Keith Patterson).

Albert attended Second Ward High School and graduated in 1951. He continued his studies at Morgan State University, where he graduated in 1955.

Albert served in the National Guard as a Sgt., dedicating his time and energy to his country.

In his free time, Albert enjoyed painting, playing the guitar, and writing. He shared his talents with his family and friends, bringing joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Albert will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Though he may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
