On August 19, 2016, Aladena Owens was called home to Glory to complete her family circle.She was born on December 31, 1935, in Rensselaer, to Vollie Whitaker and Eliza Jane Sexton.  Aladena was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield.  The past 15 months of her life were spent in Florida with her family fighting the hardest battle of her life against Alzheimer's.She enjoyed the warmer weather, gardening, painting, giant pine cones, and of course gathering rocks.  She never met a stranger and made many friends quickly.  Aladena was a member of the Wheatfield Pentecostal Church of God for over 45 years, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the P.L.A..  She received many awards for reading her Bible through.She was a loving, devoted wife for 53 years to Leslie "Buck" Owens who preceded her in death.  They were married on June 5, 1954, following her graduation from Wheatfield High School.They raised two children together Gary Lee (Sue) Owens and Brenda (Matthew) Babcock who survive.  Buck and Aladena were avid gardeners, loved to travel, and had many friends and family.  As the family grew and grandchildren came they began to travel out west to the mountains with them.  Her grandchildren are: Matthew II, Mindy, Shanee, Stephanie, and Rachel. Like most families with this much love to share, 15 great grandchildren were added.  Robby, Shania, Matyson, Alexandria, Blake, Elijah, Lucas, Kailee, Jayden, Matthew III, Zebadiah, Navaia, Liam, Jacob, and Ava.Aladena is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; great granddaughter, Ava; and siblings: Vollie Jr., Audrey, Norma, and Mary.Friends may visit with family on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 4 -8 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Service of Wheatfield.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 26, at 11 a.m. at the Pentecostal Church of God, Wheatfield with Pastor Eveston Risner officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wheatfield Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to The .
