It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Akaia Scott, who was born on September 8, 1988, and left this world on September 22, 2025. Akaia resided in Memphis, Tennessee, and was the beloved child of Carmen Regetta Scott. Akaia is survived by their partner, Shinan Marie Carroll, and their three precious children, Ava Jean Scott, Ariah Grace Scott, and Shai Marie Scott.

Akaia dedicated their life to helping others as a valuable member of the VA Hospital organization. They were known for their love of sports, particularly basketball and football, and could often be found cheering on their favorite teams.

In addition to their professional work and hobbies, Akaia was a loving partner and parent who brought joy and laughter to all those around them. They will be deeply missed by family, friends, and colleagues alike.
