We are gathered here today to say goodbye to our beloved Ah’Teyla Johnson, who lived a life filled with laughter and love. Ah’Teyla was born on May 12, 1979 in Detroit, Michigan to her parents Charles and Stacey Jordan. She married the love of her life, Micheal Jacobs, in 2001 and together they had three wonderful children: Mayah, Gwendalyn, and Tristan.
She attended Detroit High School, graduating in 1996 before moving on to Winthrop University where she earned her degree in 1998. Ah’Teyla worked at Subway for many years before retiring in 2008 to focus on her passion for helping out in the local soccer organization. She was even awarded a perfect 10 for her commitment and dedication.
When she wasn’t busy with her family or her work, Ah’Teyla loved to dance. She could always be found on the dance floor, moving to the beat with a huge smile on her face.
Tragically, Ah’Teyla passed away on September 28, 2017 due to a stroke. While we mourn her loss, we choose to remember the joy and happiness she brought into our lives. Rest in peace, Ah’Teyla, you will be deeply missed.
