Theurer, Agnes T.Agnes (Steines) Theurer, 93, Stratford, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford, with Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam officiating. Music will be provided by St. Joseph's Resurrection Choir. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday at Sauter / Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford and from 10:00 am on Monday until service time at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. St. Joseph's Parish Council of Catholic Women will recite the rosary at 5:30 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Agnes was born on November 8, 1923 in the Town of Cleveland, Marathon County, to Eugene and Mary (Kaiser) Steines. She shared her birthday with her father. She attended St. Joseph's Parochial School in Stratford and later worked for her GED and received it in 1975. In her youth, Agnes played guitar and sang on the radio highlighted by her yodeling fashioned after Patsy Montana. She worked as a domestic in Marshfield for prominent families learning many wonderful recipes and kitchen skills. On October 28, 1942, she married Paul Theurer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. He died on April 7, 2013. In 1944, the Theurer's purchased Brookside Cheese Factory on Highway 97 near Stratford, which they operated together. Agnes helped in the factory in the early years and also was bookkeeper for the business until their retirement in 1981. After retirement, Agnes and Paul traveled throughout the United States. Agnes was well known for and was very proud of the many knitted and crocheted items she created both by hand and with her knitting machines for family and for charity. She loved family history, keeping the family tree current, providingcopies to anyone who requested one. Family was important and keeping everyone informed of events was a priority to Agnes. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Charles) Hastreiter, James (Cookie), all of Marshfield, Robert (Rose) of Stratford, Rose (Dan) Leffel of Fenwood, Jeffrey of Minneapolis, Theresa of Stratford, Annette (George) Lescynski, Jean (Brian) Wegner, all of Marshfield, Karen (Les) Pinkerton of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and a daughter-in-law, Rhonda of Marshfield. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Mary Feltz of Marshfield, a brother and sister-in-law, Sylvester (Doc) and Maxine Steines of Tripoli, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Steines of Stratford, and a sister-in-law, Ludwina Sherman of Tuscon, AZ. In eternity, she will join her parents, her husband, a daughter, Mary (Betsy), a son, John, sons-in-law, Roger Hoefs and Dave Weiler, and siblings, Ann, Gertrude, Vincent, Sister Susan, Lawrence, Pete, Frank, Margaret (Peg) and VerenaCondolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
