This obituary is administered by:
DAHLEN, Adolph Andrew ArnoldOctober 13, 1930 – Saskatoon, SaskatchewanJune 8, 2017 – Calgary, AlbertaOur beloved father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2017 in the company of his family. Adolph was born on October 13, 1930 and grew up on the family farm in Valley Park, Saskatchewan, later moving to Saskatoon, where he married in 1955. He spent most of his life in Saskatoon, working first in construction and later in real estate sales. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on many committees and involved in many projects over the years. Later he moved to Watrous, Saskatchewan where he continued in real estate. In 2004 he moved to High River, Alberta to be closer to his family. Dad loved carpentry and doing things for others. His warmth, sense of humour and smile made him friends where ever he went. Adolph was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Andrew Dahlen, brother Elvin Dahlen, sisters Lilly Clark, Alma Dahlen, Myrtle Dahlen and Magnhild (Mickey) Dammert. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his son and daughter-in-law Trevor Dahlen and Mary Little of Dallas, Texas, his daughter and son- in-law Sharon and Roley Fawcett, grandson Curtis of Calgary and grandson Kent of Vancouver as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. The family would like to thank the staff of the Providence Care Centre, particularly the Birchwood Nursing Unit, for their loving care of Adolph during his residence there. A private family graveside service was held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Father Lacombe Care Centre in support of the Providence Care Centre, 332 - 146 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2X 2A3, http:/ /www.flnh.net/donations.htm or to a charity of the donor's choice. In living memory of Adolph Dahlen, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
