This obituary is administered by:

Aaron E. Pierce, 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Humble, Texas.

Aaron was born on June 16, 1928 to Albert and Carnie Pierce in Lubbock, Texas. Aaron moved to Humble with his family in 1944 for his father to be Principal of Humble High School. He then met Dolores Pierce and they were married on September 25, 1947. Aaron and Dolores were blissfully married for 66 1/2 years. They were blessed with three beautiful children; Donald Aaron Pierce, David Ray Pierce and Joyce Yvonne Pierce Pope.

Aaron graduated from Humble High School in 1945. After graduation he attended Sam Houston State University and then finished his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston. Aaron worked for Exxon Mobil Company for 37 years. While working at Exxon he invented and patented multiple devices that are still used today in the petroleum industry. Upon retiring from Exxon, he did several years of consulting for BP Oil and Exxon. Throughout his prestigious career he was fortunate enough to travel to each continent with the exception of Antarctica. Aaron was an active member of the ExxonMobil Retiree Club of Lake Houston and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Aaron was an active member of the Humble First United Methodist Church. The chapel at the Methodist Church is where Aaron and Dolores exchanged their vows. They enjoyed many summers in Garner State Park with their children and grandchildren. This tradition started in 1953 and continued for over the next fifty plus years. Aaron loved camping, playing bridge and square dancing. Aaron and Dolores spent many days at their lake house reeling in stringers full of fish. Dolores and Aaron traveled the country in their RV always looking for new adventures in life. These travels led to many opportunities to play bridge with friends, square dance and see the world.

Aaron was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dolores Pierce; brothers, Eugene Pierce and wife Robbie, John Pierce and wife Agnes, Tom Pierce and wife Barbara.

He is survived by Sisters, Elizabeth Pierce Lanningham, Virgie Pierce Mahoney and husband Charles; Sons Donnie Pierce and wife Debbie, David Pierce and wife Diane.
