Zina Mae Bowen WoolseyCedar CityZina Mae Bowen Woolsey, age 96, passed away on January 5, 2017 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born on November 14, 1920 in Rupert, Idaho to John Henry and Sarah Stewart Bowen.Zina was raised in Rupert, ID and moved to Cedar City, UT when she was 16. She graduated from Cedar High School and went to BAC for one year. She met the love of her life, Ross Woolsey. They were married on October 1940 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was sealed for eternity in the St. George Temple. Ross died January 7, 1997, almost 20 years to Zina's passing.Zina worked for 28 years for AT&T as an operator. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers with a five-generation line. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various auxiliaries. Zina loved her children and grandchildren and was an active participant in their lives. She loved her cabin at Duck Creek. She loved to travel. Some of her most favorite places included Warm Springs, Cottonwood Cove and many trips to Hawaii with her four-generation female travel crew. Her hobbies were playing cards, putting puzzles together, knitting, crocheting and most important, rocking babies.Zina is survived by her children Brent Ross (Sherron) Woolsey of Hurricane, UT, Patricia Woolsey (Roger) Murie of Cedar City, UT and Sharon Woolsey (James) Adams of Duck Creek Village, UT, 12 Grandchildren, 35 Great-grandchildren and 28 Great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Delbert Ross Woolsey, her brothers Max Bowen, Bill Bowen and Jay Bowen, her sisters, Idona Jackson and Joyce Maughn, her granddaughter, Lanae Murie Bladen Anderson, her great-grandsons Brett R. Murie and Ryan James Ross Adams.A small visitation will be held from 11:00am-12:30pm on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 North 300 West, Cedar City, UT).
