MATHENY, Winnefred Lucille Died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Nov. 6. She was born on 5/22/21 in Indianapolis, In to Linza and Minnie Sheeks. She was the little sister of Kenneth Eugene Sheeks and the 1/2 sister to 11 siblings. She met her one and only true love, her "loverboy," Harry at a local Indianapolis movie theater. A gentle pull of her long red hair by Harry was all it took, she was in love. They were married on Dec. 31, 1937. Three short years later, their beloved daughter Sondra Carol was born. Affectionately known as Sandy, was her best friend and was eternally grateful for her love and devotion. Winnie's primary job was a homemaker. She settled in the Dayton area as a young wife and mother. She cared for family and friends in their time of need and darkest hours. She held your hand through it all and welcomed your hurt and happiness into her heart. Walking through the front door of her home, you knew you were walking into comfort, peace, and love. Her passions were cooking, tennis, bowling, and spending Winters in Gulf Shores, Al. She is survived by her only child Sondra C. Singer (Ed), 4 grand children Douglas, Troy, Tamara, and Carol, countless nieces, nephews, great grand children, and great great grand children. Having a smile on her face and love in her heart, never asking for anything in return, Winnie will be deeply missed. May her love for "unconditional" love flow effortlessly through those she has left behind. Her family and friends would like to personally thank staff especially, Dr. Cass, Jena, Heather.
