RAPP, WillyNovember 24, 1931 – October 2, 2017Willy Rapp of Kipling, SK passed away with his family by his side on October 2, 2017 at the age of 85. Willy will be deeply missed by his wife Doreen, children Barry (Diane) Rapp of Regina, Dorothy (John) Schuweiler of Regina, Lorraine (Darren) Blazeiko of Brandon, grandchildren, Taryn and Kalen Rapp, Brooke and Jake Blazeiko and one sister, Elsie Smith of Winnipeg, MB. Willy was predeceased by his parents Michael and Ottilie Rapp, brother John, and sisters Hedy and Elfrieda. Willy was born on the family farm at Kipling on November 24, 1931. He attended Hollington School and continued working on the farm, eventually starting on his own in 1954. On July 16, 1960, he married Doreen Zepick and together they raised their family while continuing to farm until September 2009 when they moved into the town of Kipling. Farming was Willy's life but he also found time to contribute to the local community through involvement in such projects as the Local Rural Telephone Installation and Operation, snow plough clubs, rink activities, church council and the Friendship Centre. Willy enjoyed the many close and personal friendships he and Doreen were fortunate to have. Socializing was a huge and enjoyable part of Willy's life. Aside from his family who will miss him dearly, Willy's absence will be noted around the card table, pool hall, poker table and friendship centre. A celebration of Willy's life will be held in Christ Lutheran Church, Kipling, SK on Friday, October 6, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Guy Scholtz officiating. Interment in Edenland Cemetery.
