William "Bill" ThomsIndialantic, FLWilliam Griffin Thoms, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 5, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on September 2, 1926 in Richton, Mississippi. Bill is survived by the love of his life, Virginia (Ginger) Thoms, two daughters, Lisa Thoms Mayer (Carlo) and Lori Thoms (L.J. Burr), two grandsons, Lane Mayer and Matthew Mayer and one granddaughter, Elena Thoms. He was preceded in death by his parents Jamie Cain Thoms and Ava Lee Thoms, and his brother James Cain Thoms. Bill was a WWII naval veteran.  He was employed as a contract auditor for the U.S. Department of Defense Contract Audit Agency, retiring after more than 30 years of service. Bill was a Mississippi State University graduate, a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity and an avid MSU Bulldog fan. Go Bulldogs! Bill was a member of the Space Coast Credit Union, donating his time in various positions, including Chairman of the Board, for over 40 years. He was a quiet, gentle man of deep faith and a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Satellite Beach for more than 50 years. During that time he donated many hours of service to the church, including accounting, which was his passion. We now celebrate that he is continuing his service in the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Satellite Beach on July 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Harry Holloman. A reception will follow at the fellowship hall.
