William Stephen "Steve" Wilson, 89 of Blair, passed away on Saturday, March 11 at the Plantation Village Nursing Home.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at the Blair First Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Altom and the Rev. Donald Altom officiating. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Steve was born on February 12, 1928 in McQueen, Oklahoma to William Robert "Bo" and Viola Mae (Little) Wilson.
He graduated from Gould High School and earned his bachelor's degree in agriculture education from Oklahoma State University. Steve and Frances Juanelle Cunningham were united in marriage on June 4, 1949 in Hollis, Oklahoma. To this union two children were born.
After graduating from Oklahoma State University, Steve taught agriculture for one year in New Mexico before returning to Oklahoma to start the Vo-Ag Chapter at Blair School, where he taught for 12 years. During that time, he also served his country in the U.S. Army for 20 months. He farmed and ranched all his life and was a rural mail carrier for 32 years, retiring in 1994. Steve was a member and deacon at the Blair First Baptist Church and belonged to the OSU Alumni Association and the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. He enjoyed OSU sports and was a part of the Blair Domino Club.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, wife, his sister Roberta Taylor, brother-in-law Clint Cunningham and a nephew Jerry Taylor.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Stephanie Wilson; son Jim Bob Wilson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charla and Bob Duggins; and a nephew Robert Carl Taylor.
The Wilson family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at the Blair First Baptist Church prior to services.
