William Charles Robertson "Bill"SHEVEPORT, LA - Services for William Charles Robertson, "Bill" to his friends and "Din Din" to his loved ones will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Kings Highway Christian Church. Officiating will be Dr. David Brice, Senior Pastor of Kings Highway Christian Church. Interment will be at Forest Park East Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA.Bill passed away on January 9, 2017 at the age 93. Bill was a lifelong resident of Shreveport, leaving only for college and service to his country.Bill was born on July 31, 1923 to Lou John Robertson, Sr. and Louise Weiss Robertson. He graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1940. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. After World War II, he attended Louisiana Tech where he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering and met the love of his life.Bill worked at Arkla Gas for 38 1/2 years, where he managed many departments and served as a mentor.Bill was a lifelong member of Kings Highway Christian Church where he served in most every capacity including Chairman of the Board, Elder, and Property Chairman.Bill enjoyed a special talent with woodworking and could fix anything. He trailered the United States with his wife Paul, making friends everywhere they went, and toured Europe until he saw as many cathedrals as he cared to see. He also enjoyed camping in Arkansas with his family for many years.He is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother Lou John Robertson, Jr. and his wife Bejay.Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years Paul Eleanor Hogan Robertson; his daughter Marsha Robertson Duncan and her husband John; his son William Scott Robertson and his wife Susan; his grandchildren Allison Duncan Bushnell and her husband Eric, William Cross Duncan and his wife Mandy, and Hunter Phillip Robertson and his wife Megan; and great-grandchildren Annie Louise Bushnell, Eva Jordan Duncan, Aaron Joel Duncan, Sean William Robertson, John Martin Bushnell, Margery Jill Robertson and Amelia Rose Robertson. He is also survived by his younger brother Robert George Robertson and his wife Mary, as well as many nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud and loved very much.Those wishing to honor his memory may make donations to Kings Highway Christian Church, a place so special in his heart.
