William "Shawn" Rich, 36, of Remington passed away at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at IU Health Hospital of Lafayette. He was born on June 9, 1980 in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late William Josh Rich and Sandra L. (Witt) Waldenville. He attended Hebron High School. Shawn resided in Hebron, Indiana for several years before moving to Rensselaer for 10 years, and Remington the last 5 years. Shawn worked for Omni Forge in Remington and later was a truck driver for Wealing Trucking of Fowler for five years. Shawn was a huge Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching his favorite driver, Kyle Busch of NASCAR. He also loved to go camping and spending time with his family and friends. Shawn is survived by his mother, Sandra Waldenville of Remington, Stepfather Steve Waldenville Remington, Step-mother Lori Rich of Morocco Indiana, his soulmate Sara Martin of Rensselaer; his children, Joshua and Mackenzie Rich of Rensselaer; his brothers, Aaron Rich of Remington, Charles (Bridget) Rich of Hebron, Indiana, Mikey Shane (Shannon) Rich of Hebron, Indiana, and Justin (Ashley) Rich of Lafayette, Indiana. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, William Josh Rich. A celebration of life memorial will take place at the Demotte American Legion on April 23, 2017 at 4 p.m. for family and friends of Shawn.
