William J. Oaf1932 2014William J. Oaf, 81, of Salem, Wis., passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 16, 2014. He was born on Dec. 17, 1932 to John and Mary (Carroll) Oaf in Chicago, Ill. He was a proud Army Veteran and had served during the Korean War. Bill owned and operated Guarantee Engineering for many years until his retirement. His passion was to spend Saturdays at the air field where he tinkered with his Sportsman Class Airplane and socialized with the other airplane enthusiasts.Bill is survived by his step-son, David (Lois) Kauz; his nephews, Bruce (Barbara Holtze) Klatter and Gregory Klatter. Bill was preceded in death by his former wife, Barbara Kauz; his siblings, Mary T. Klatter and John D. Oaf; and his parents.A memorial service in Williams honor is planned for the spring.
