William "Bill" Joseph Boughey, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on February 1, 2017. Bill was a
WWII veteran serving in the
U.S. Navy. He received his bachelor's degree at the University of Kentucky in journalism and developed a successful local advertising agency. Boughey Advertising agency helped contribute to the success of many local Louisville businesses. He was a longtime member of St. Pius X Catholic Parish. Bill was born on May 17, 1928 in Louisville to the late Dick and Maggie Boughey. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Doris Boughey, an infant daughter, Laura Lee Boughey and daughter Donna Pohl. Bill is survived by his daughter Debby (Matt) Buresh, sons: Rick Boughey, Ron (Linda) Boughey, Greg (Gwyn) Boughey, Kevin (Patty) Boughey; son-in-law, Doug Pohl; brotherin-laws Bob Rusterholtz and Bill Geiger; and grandchildren, Brandon (Devin), Brent, Bruce, Marty (Kristina), Lana (Phil), Brittany, Andrew, Tyler, Amanda, Olivia and Evan and three great-granddaughters Brinley, Aria, and Nora. He also was a spirited, creative and loving dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He was an avid tennis player and he considered every tennis player a friend. Our Dad is now reunited with his number one tennis partner, our mom. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville 40243). Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church (3521 Goldsmith Lane Louisville, Kentucky 40220) at with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery (1600 Newburg Road Louisville, Kentucky 40205).
