HOWELL – William "Bill" Harold Shy Jr., 76, passed away peacefully at his home with his family surrounding him on Monday, March 17, 2008. He was born on Dec. 21, 1931, in Cheyenne Wells, Colo., a son of William Harold and Alice Wanda Merrill Shy. Bill married Evelyn Anderson on Jan. 3, 1950, in Smithfield, Utah. He worked at DDO in Ogden and did drywall in Oregon and Idaho and then worked and retired from HAFB. Bill enjoyed raising cows and pigs. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn of Howell; Diane (Arlan) Freeman, Riverton, Utah; Cindy (Cheryl) Shy, Ivins, Utah; Terry (Connie) Shy, Honeyville, Utah; Steven (April) Shy, Brigham City, Utah; Judy (Neil) Thompson, Howell, Utah; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two siblings, Ralph Shy, Gulfport, Fla., and Edna (Brent) Haney, Ogden. He was preceded by his parents; one daughter, Kathy; one brother, Richard Shy; and one sister, Lavina Griffitts.
