William Devine McLatchie 82 of Salinas passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014. He was born December 18, 1931 in Hamilton, Scotland. Bill was a Photographer for 50 years. He served 3 years in Royal Air Force from 1951 to 1954. In Scotland, he worked for the Glasgow Daily Express newspaper as a Compositor before immigrating to USA in 1966. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Valerie McLatchie of Salinas, daughters, Elaine McLatchie of Thomson, GA., Fiona (Tom) DeBartolo of Waxhaw, NC., Kirstin McLatchie of Los Angeles, CA., brother, Douglas (Margaret) McLatchie of Sebastian, FL., 4 grandchildren, Leslie Vanden Herik of Charlotte, N.C., Stephen (Heidi) Vanden Herik of Onalaska, WI., Nicole DeBartolo of Boone, N.C., Danielle DeBartolo and 1 great grandchild, Willem Vanden Herik.
