William C. Phillips, age 79, of Greenbush died on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at his home. He was born on June 28, 1932 to the late George and Clarice Phillips (nee Martens). William served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and later spent most of his life in Saginaw before moving north in 1997. He worked as a general superintendent for General Motors for 25 years. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and especially working outside in his yard. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois, whom he married on Sept. 19, 1953 in Herman, Maine. William is also survived by two daughters and two sons, Medora (Keith) Federspiel of Pinconning, Ken (Kathy) Phillips of Holgate, Ohio, Bill (Kimberly) Phillips of Grand Haven and Lynn Gutierrez of Oscoda; sister, Beverly Laundra of Highland; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Phillips; and brother, Donald Phillips. Private arrangements were handled by Buresh Funeral Homes, Inc. of Oscoda.
